Following is a fairly comprehensive list of papers, books, and theses that deal or refer to fiddler crabs. The list currently contains 2,486 references (last updated October 17, 2007). Many of these papers (particularly the older ones) are primarily taxonomic lists. I tried to leave out papers which just casually refer to fiddlers without providing any information (e.g., “...the results of these experiments on the lobster are similar to those seen in green crabs and fiddler crabs.”). In a list of this size, there are bound to be errors, omissions, and mistaken inclusions, but I suspect you'll still find it a pretty good reference. Feel free to send me corrections.
The list is also available as a zipped Endnote
file (Version 10 for Windows).
